What better way to spend a hot summer weekend in the middle of July than in the heart of Sofia? That's exactly where our volunteers gathered – at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski"- for the 54th National Assembly “Natural Uplift” from 11th to 13th July. 

Kicking off on Friday with a guided tour inside the university’s renowned museums and hidden gems, the event set an exciting tone that led into a relaxing picnic in the park. From the very start, the assembly left us wanting more!

Throughout the weekend, 35 dedicated volunteers from all sections of ESN Bulgaria participated in inspiring workshops tailored to their needs, engaged in meaningful discussions to decide and shape the future of our network. 

Saturday morning began with a warm welcome speech from the Deputy Rector of Sofia University – D.E.S Sonya Mileva-Bozhanova, followed by an engaging session titled “Design Thinking with Coca-Cola HBC”, led by guest speaker Maya Dacheva. Participants had the opportunity to get creative, envisioning their personal and organisational goals.
 

In the afternoon, the five candidates for the next National Board & Support presented their visions and answered thoughtful questions from the audience. The anticipation continued into Sunday, when all 5 of the candidates were elected for the next ESN Bulgaria 2025/2026 mandate.

The entire event was made possible thanks to the incredible efforts of the ESN Sofia University section and its volunteers, the support of the International Relations Office of Sofia University, and our valued partners: Coca-Cola HBC, InaEssentials, Bilka Cosmetics, and Natur— all of whom helped us show participants what it truly feels like to be at home.
